Golden Eagle women's soccer picks up two more signees

CHEYENNE, WY – The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team continued signing new faces to the roster with the addition of two more athletes from Wyoming and Colorado.

Aubrey Yantis joins the team with a long resume of success behind her as a member of the Rock Springs High School team which won a state title in 2021 and were the runner-up in 2022. As a four-year letter winner, Yantis brings a lot of playing experience from high school, as well as club soccer where she was a member of the Rock Springs Avengers team that took the Utah Gold Cup title.

“Aubrey has a knack for finding the back of the net through her composure and awareness,” Head Women’s Soccer Coach Lugo Arenas said. “Aubrey’s game continues to grow and we’re excited to see that carry over to our program.”

Charlee Durtsche joins the Golden Eagles from Loveland Colorado where she was a varsity member of the Thompson Valley Eagles this spring. The senior defender showed her ability to impact games by scoring three goals and adding three assists on the teams run to the Colorado 4A Sweet Sixteen and had 46 steals on the defensive side in 17 games.

“Charlee’s leadership on the field built with her engine will strengthen our back line,” Arenas said. “That ‘never settle’ mentality shows in her game through every tackle and aerial ball she wins.”

LCCC has now signed eight freshmen to their roster for the 2023 fall season.

The year will open with the annual Alumni Game on Saturday, August 12th before they open the season against Salt Lake Community College and Cochise College on August 24th and 25th.
