LCCC women pick up two more for fall 2023 roster

CHEYENNE, WY – The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team added depth to their attack and defense with a pair of new signings this week. The Golden Eagles stayed in state to pick up Annabelle Nachazel out of Lander, Wyoming and went overseas to sign Danielle O’Leary out of Southhampton, England.

The team is bringing on a player with championship experience in Nachazel who has played in two of the last three Wyoming 3A State Championship games with Lander Valley, winning the title in 2021 over Cody before falling in 2022 to the same team.

Nachazel has also been named to her All-Conference team and has been a member of the Wyoming All-State team and was used all over the field in her time in high school making her a versatile option for the Golden Eagles.

“Annabelle’s physicality stands out immediately, meshed with her strength and speed it’ll be exciting to see her impact for us defensively,” Head Coach Lugo Arenas said.

The team’s addition coming from England is coming in on the attacking side for Laramie County as O’Leary was the leading goal scorer for her East Leigh club team during the 2022/23 season.

“Danielle does very well utilizing her pace on the wing with the hunger to find the back of the net,” Arenas said. “She thrives in 1v1 situations with the initial burst of speed.”

The Golden Eagles signing class is starting to come into form for Arenas as he enters his first season at the helm of LCCC. Games begin for Laramie County with the annual alumni scrimmage on August 12th before the team opens their regular season at home against Salt Lake Community College on August 24th.
