CHEYENNE, WY - The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles (13-2-2) opened postseason play with a 7-0 win over Northwest (7-8-1) on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles wasted little time in Friday's Region IX first-round matchup, taking the lead in the ninth minute when Sophie Osmon (Glasgow, Scotland) hit a ball off the post that rolled across the line, putting the Golden Eagles in front, 1-0. The goal was the freshman's third of the season.

Jenaya Brown (Edmonton, Canada) doubled the lead in the 30th minute, curling in a free-kick at the far post to push the Golden Eagles' advantage to 2-0. The goal for Brown was her team-leading 10th goal of the season.

The Golden Eagles made it a three-goal lead before the half as Erika Scivally (Saratoga Springs, Utah) kicked in a rebound at the far post, pushing the lead to 3-0. Scivally has now scored three goals in the last three games and has four for the season.

LCCC added to their lead in the second half, scoring in the 80th minute when Paige Hill (Casper, Wyo.) beat the keeper on a shot from outside the box. Rylee Berry (Rock Springs, Wyo.) scored in the 82nd minute on a shot from 16 yards out, extending the lead to 5-0.

Four minutes later, Hanah Cornaby (Springville, Utah) scored on a cross from Peyton Oleson (Loveland, Colo.) to push the lead to 6-0. The Golden Eagles scored their seventh goal of the game on a Northwest own goal in the 90th minute.
