STERLING, CO - The No. 10 ranked Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles (5-2-1) fell to Northeastern (8-2) 2-1 in double overtime on Wednesday afternoon.

Northeastern opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Yadira Ramos was able to get past the Golden Eagles backline and beat the keeper to give the Plainswomen a 1-0 lead.

Jenaya Brown (Edmonton, Alberta) answered the goal just five minutes later with a shot from outside the box that just snuck under the bar to tie the game at 1-1 in the 17th minute. The goal for Brown was her fourth of the season. 

The game would remain even at one until the second overtime frame when Northeastern ended the game in the 103rd minute thanks to a goal from inside the box.

The Golden Eagles return home for a rematch of last season's Region IX title game as they host Western Wyoming on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
