SCOTTSBLUFF, NE - The No. 7 ranked Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles (5-0-1) defeated the Western Nebraska Cougars (2-2-1) 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

After a defensive first half, the Golden Eagles got things going in the second half, scoring a pair of goals to earn the first region win of the season.

The Golden Eagles and Cougars went into the locker room scoreless at the break before Ainsley Basich (Cheyenne, Wyo.) opened the scoring in the 51st minute before upping the Golden Eagles' advantage but knocking in a cross for her second goal of the game in the 62nd minute.

The Golden Eagles recorded their third shutout of the season.

LCCC takes on Casper on the road Saturday at 1:00 pm.
