CHEYENNE, WY - The No. 7 ranked LCCC Golden Eagles (2-0) finished off a perfect weekend to start the 2021 season, beating Utah State-Eastern (1-1) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, the Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead three minutes into the second half thanks to a Utah State-Eastern own goal, giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead.

The Golden Eagles defense held Utah State-Eastern to just four shots on goal.

Ainsley Basich (Cheyenne, Wyo.) put the game away for LCCC, scoring her second goal of the season, a shot from outside the box in the 59th minute on a feed from Emily Reddish (South Jordan, Utah).

Goalkeeper London Ewing (Alpine, Utah) stopped all four shots on goal, recording her first career shutout.

The Golden Eagles are back in action Saturday, hosting Northeast Nebraska at 1:00 pm.
