Seven Golden Eagles Sign to Play at Next Level

CHEYENNE, WY - Laramie County Community College women's soccer players Lauren Amerena, Taylor Meyrick, Jessica Lemmon, Eli Olsen, Beyonce Robinson, Reagen Cordell, and Caely Pickerd have signed to continue their playing and academic careers at four-year institutions. 

Lauren Amerena (West Sussex, England) will play at The College of Saint Rose next season, an NCAA DII school in Albany, N.Y. Amerena was recently named an NJCAA first-team All-American after scoring a career-high 12 goals in 10 games played this season. Over the course of her two-year career at LCCC, Amerena scored 20 goals in 28 games. This past season, Amerena recorded two hattricks, scoring three goals in a 4-1 win over Hill on April 3 and doing so again in a 5-1 win over Western Nebraska on May 5. 

Meyrick (Cheyenne, Wyo.) has signed to play at the Unversity of Mary next season. Meyrick played in 29 career games over two seasons for the Golden Eagles. The Cheyenne Central product scored four career goals and assisted on 11. Meyrick scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to Monroe College in the 2019 NJCAA Women's Soccer Championships. The University of Mary is an NCAA DII institution located in Bismarck, N.D. 

Joining Meyrick at Mary is defender Jessica Lemmon (Gillette, Wyo.). Lemmon played in 34 career games for the Golden Eagles and made 21 career starts over two seasons. This past season, Lemmon scored her first career goal, scoring the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Western Wyoming on April 27. Lemmon tallied three assists in her career. 

Defender Eli Olsen (Buffalo, Wyo.) has signed to play at Charleston Southern University, an NCAA DI institution in Charleston, S.C. Olsen played in 31 games over two seasons, scoring two career goals. Last season, Olsen recorded a career-high two assists and scored a goal in a 5-1 win over Northeastern on May 21. Olsen was named a 2021 NJCAA third-team All-American. 

Forward Beyonce Robinson (Brampton, Ontario) will move on to play at Jacksonville University, an NCAA DI school competing in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Robinson appeared in 28 games, starting 24 of them over two seasons at LCCC. Robinson scored 23 career goals and had 10 assists, scoring three career game-winning goals. This past season, Robinson scored a goal in a 3-0 win over Kansas City Kansas in the NJCAA Women's Soccer Championships. 

Reagen Cordell (Farmington, N.M.) will be heading to Wayland Baptist next season, an NAIA school in Plainview, Texas. Cordell played in 28 career games over two seasons at LCCC and recorded a pair of assists. Cordell recorded her second career assist on a 5-0 win over Northwest on May 14. 

Goalkeeper Caely Pickerd (Laramie, Wyo.) has signed to play at Bluefield State, an NCAA DII institution in Bluefield, W.V., next season. Pickerd played in seven games this season, making 21 saves and posting a 1.10 goals-against average. Pickerd recorded a shutout in a 3-0 win over Kansas City Kansas in the NJCAA Women's Soccer Championships. 

The Golden Eagles finished the 2020-21 season with a 14-2 record, earning a trip to the NJCAA Women's Soccer Championships for the 12th time in program history.
