CHEYENNE, WY - The Golden Eagles scored four second-half goals in route to a 5-1 win over Northeastern in the semi-finals of the Region IX Tournament on Friday afternoon.

Beyonce Robinson (Brampton, Ontario) opened the scoring for the Golden Eagles, giving LCCC a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute, beating the keeper one-on-one on an assist from Lauren Amerena (West Sussex, England).

The game remained close until the second half when the Golden Eagles erupted for four goals.

Ainsley Basich (Cheyenne, Wyo.) extended the Golden Eagles lead to 2-0 on a goal in the 51st minute thanks to a Jessica Lemmon (Arvada, Colo.) assist followed by an Amerena goal in the 59th minute to extend the advantage to 3-0.

After Northeastern cut the Golden Eagles' lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 75th minute, the Golden Eagles scored twice in the final ten minutes. Amerena scored her second of the match, connecting on a shot from outside the 18-yard box. One minute later, Eli Olsen (Buffalo, Wyo.) made it 5-1 by knocking in a corner.

The Golden Eagles play Western Wyoming for the Region IX title on Saturday at 1:00 pm at LCCC.
