#4 Women’s Soccer Wins Tenth Straight

STERLING, Colo. – Beyonce Robinson (Ontario, Canada) scored three goals in 9th, 29th, and 40th minute to help the Laramie County Community College women's soccer team secure a 6-1 victory over Northeastern Junior College on Saturday in a Region IX contest in Sterling, Colorado.

Freshman Taylor Meyrick (Cheyenne, Wyoming) made it four in the half in the 41st minute as the Golden Eagles took a 4-1 lead on Northeastern at the break. Christina De Andres (Baleres, Spain), Faith Meredith (Cheyenne, Wyoming) and Lauren Amerena (West Sussex, England) each had an assist in the half.

Shaney McCabe (Dundee, Scotland) would tack on two goals in the 52nd and 73rd minute to extend the lead. Amerena and Robinson had the assists.

The Plainswomen (6-6, 3-4 Region IX) only put up one shot on goal in the second half. The Golden Eagles outshot NJC 18-9 in the match.

Larissa Sitzler (Hamburg, Germany) made two saves in 69 minutes of action. Jil Turner (Peyton, Colorado) came in to finish the game and didn't have to record a save.

The Golden Eagles (10-0-1, 7-0 Region IX) are in action again Friday Oct. 11th to face Trinidad State Junior College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the LCCC Soccer Field.
