#4 LCCC Picks Up 9-1 Win against Central Community College

COLUMBUS – #4 Laramie County Community College put together another strong performance of soccer on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Central Community College 9-1 to improve to 8-0-1 on the season.

The Golden Eagles Faith Meredith (Cheyenne, Wyoming) connected on a goal to put Laramie County on top in the 10th minute. After the teams battled for the next 20 minutes, the Raiders Kaylee Grieser scored to level the game. The Golden Eagles would quickly responded scoring seconds later off the foot of Christina De Andres (Baleres, Spain). Darby Whiteley (Bungedore, Australia) was credited with the assist. Meredith would get her second of the game in the 33rd minute on a pass from Amber Carlson (Cheyenne, Wyoming) to double the lead. Beyonce Robinson (Ontario, Canada) made it four when she finished a pass from Thalita Portela Faria (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Meredith completed the hat trick in the 41st minute on a pass from Whiteley. The Golden Eagles led 5-1 at the half.

Robinson would tally her second of the game in the 66th minute off a pass from Portela Faria. Meredith scored her fourth goal of the game in the 73rd minute on a pass from De Andres. Freshman Taylor Meyrick (Cheyenne, Wyoming) made it 8-1 in the 81st minute as she connected off a pass from Portela Faria. Portela Faria got on the score sheet in the 83rd minute to round out the scoring on a pass from Ellie MacKendrick (Tabernash, Colorado).

LCCC collected 23 shots on goal, led by six from Meredith. Larissa Sitzler (Hamburg, Germany) recorded a save in the game. Jil Turner (Peyton, Colorado) replaced her in the 57th minute and did not have to make a save.

CCC was outshot 40-2 in the contest.

LCCC continues Region IX play on Friday as they travel to Western Nebraska Community College for a 1:30 PM kick.
