#4 Women’s Soccer Tops Northwest 6-0

POWELL, WY – Freshman forward Beyonce Robinson (Ontario, Canada) notched her 10th and 11th goals of the season in the 41st and 80th minute to help #4 Laramie County Community College women's soccer (6-0-1) defeat Northwest College (3-5) 6-0 Friday afternoon in Powell, Wyoming.

Robinson had eight of LCCC's 30 shots in the game and put six of her shots on frame. Thalita Portela Faria (Sao Paulo, Brazil) got LCCC on the board first in the 16th minute on a pass from Taylor Meyrick (Cheyenne, Wyoming). Sophomore Abree Hill (Casper, Wyoming) fed a ball to Faith Meredith (Cheyenne, Wyoming) in the 20th minute to make it 2-0. Shaney McCabe (Dundee, Scotland) tracked down a ball from Robinson in the 30th minute for the 3-0 lead. Roles would reverse in the 41st minute as McCabe fed Robinson who sent a sharp ball toward the far post.

Laramie County continued to apply pressure throughout the second half and held a 12-2 shots margin over the game's final 35 minutes. McCabe would get her second of the game in the 67th minute on a pass from Amber Carlson (Cheyenne, Wyoming). Robinson's second was in the 80th minute on a pass from Ellie MacKendrick (Tabernash, Colorado). The match would end early after it was in a lightening delay for over an hour and a half.

Freshman goalkeeper Larissa Sitzler (Hamburg, Germany) started in net and made two saves. Jil Turner (Payton, Colorado) came on in relief and made two saves as the two combined for the shutout.

Laramie County stays on the road and will travel to Central Wyoming College at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Match will be played in Lander, Wyoming.
