Women’s Soccer Falls to Eastern Florida in Season Opener

MELBOURNE, FL – #2 Laramie County Community College women's soccer (0-1) fell to a tough #4 Eastern Florida State College (1-0) team, 6-1, on Friday evening in Melbourne.

The Golden Eagles faced a formidable Titans squad that has reached the NJCAA National Tournament over the last several years and been very tough at home.

LCCC and EFSC combined for 26 shots with 16 of those on goal. EFSC had 13 shots at the net while LCCC did fire off three attempts on target. The difference was the Titans capitalized on their opportunities. The Golden Eagles will look to bounce back on Sunday at 10 a.m. est. against Daytona State College in Melbourne.

Laramie County equalized the game in the 62nd minute with Taylor Stoeger (Green River, Wyoming) firing away a shot. Following the goal, the Titans would score five unanswered goals.

Ellie Bowman (Essex, England) earned the nod in the net playing all 90 minutes and made six saves in the match.
