LCCC Women’s Basketball Win at Northwest College

Powell, WY – The second game of a two game road stand for the Laramie County Community College women's basketball team ended with an 81-59 win at Northwest College on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles pulled away in the second and third quarter to keep them at second in the Region IX North standings.

The Golden Eagles had three of their starters in double figures led by Karli O'Brien (Rapid City, South Dakota) with 22 points, while Haylie Anderson (Clearfield, Utah) added 20 and Gabi O'Connor (Colorado Springs, Colorado) had 10. Aerial Stephenson (Garland, Texas) came off the bench and added 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and knocking down two three-pointers. Anderson hit four three-pointers in the game. O'Brien led the Golden Eagles in rebounding with nine and O'Connor led them in steals with two.

LCCC had an 11-point lead at halftime up 41-30 and added to that lead in the third quarter outscoring the Trappers 21-15.  Melissa Martinez had 14 points on the night for the Trappers. Berkley Larsen was the other Trapper in double figures with 11 points.

The Golden Eagles were 32-of-70 from the field for 45.7 percent. The Golden Eagles will be at home for their next game on Saturday against Casper College at 2 p.m. in the RAC.
