TORRINGTON – A career-high 23 points from freshman Karli O'Brien (Rapid City, South Dakota) was not enough as the Laramie County Community College women's basketball fell to Eastern Wyoming College on the road in overtime on Monday, 84-78.

The Golden Eagles are now tied for second place in the Region IX South at 5-3, 14-10 overall. The Lady Lancers, who came into the contest ranked sixth in the league, now improve to 3-4 in the Region IX South and 13-9 overall.

O'Brien also pulled down nine rebounds to go with her 23 points. Sarah Kruthaupt (Las Vegas, Nevada) and Courtney Walker (Las Vegas, Nevada) joined O'Brien with scoring in double figures. Kruthaupt had 14 points and Walker added 13 points. Sophomore Madison Hamm (Fort Collins, Colorado) led the team in rebounds with 12.

The Golden Eagles had one of their worst games of the year from long-range, shooting 26.7 percent (8 of 30) from the perimeter. As a team they are normally hitting in the mid 30's percentage wise. The team was 42 percent from the field shooting (29-for-69).

The Lady Lancers were led by a double-double effort from Pamela Bethel, who put a team-high 18 points and 12 rebounds. Three other Lady Lancers broke into the double-figures as Abril Rexach-Roure had 18 points, Lauren O'Connell added 14 and Cathlyn Knutson had 12 points.

Eastern Wyoming shot 42.1 percent from the field and was 33.3 percent from three-point range.

The Golden Eagles will be back on the road on Wednesday, Jan. 31, with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff against Northeastern Junior College.
