LCCC Women’s Basketball Clinches 81-30 Victory Over CSU Club Team

MCCOOK, Neb. – The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team closed its two-game weekend at the McCook Community College Classic with a win over Colorado State University Club Team, 81-30.

The Golden Eagles are now 6-5 overall this season. LCCC will next face North Platte Community College at 4:30 p.m. in North Platte, Nebraska.

Sophomore Madison Hamm (Fort Collins, Colorado) led the team 14 points on the afternoon. Freshman Ashleigh Ellis had her strongest outing of the season, recording nine points and a team-high six rebounds.

Freshman Courtney Walker (Las Vegas, Nevada) and Skylar Backstrom (Castle Rock, Colorado) were the only other LCCC players to score in double-figures with 13 and 10 points respectively. Hamm also had a team-high three steals and freshman Kyleigh Milan (Berthoud, Colorado) added a career-high five blocks.

The Rams lone scorer in double-figures was Anna Schell with 16 points.

Laramie County took the lead early on after hitting an early three to start the game. The Golden Eagles kept the pace throughout the first 10 minutes for a 17-9 lead after the first quarter.

The Golden Eagles gained more momentum and pushed the lead to double-digits as the Rams went through a scoring drought. At the end of the first half, the Golden Eagles led 39-15.

LCCC continued to build its lead early in the third quarter and fourth quarter for the 81-30 victory.
