Ian McGivney Ties for 1st at Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo

Cheyenne, WY – The Laramie County Community College men finished fifth at the Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo over the weekend.

Ian McGivney (Kaycee, Wyoming) paced the Golden Eagles, tying for first in the saddle-bronc. He scored a 78-point ride in the short go for the highest score of the round. He currently sits third in the Central Rocky Mountain Region Standings.

Cord Roberts (Rapid City, South Dakota) was first in the short go of steer wrestling and allowed for him to finish second in the average with a time of 9.1 on two runs. Jhet Murphy (Helena, Montana) finished sixth in the event with a time of 12.8 on two.

The tandem of Payton Feyder (Elko, Nebraska) and Justin Skarohlid (Cheyenne, Wyoming) finished fourth in the team roping with a time of 17 flat on two. Shayla Howell (UW) and Cord Roberts roped seventh in the team roping with a time of 21.5 on two runs. Brook Jamison (Chadron) and Morgan Darnell (Gordon, Nebraska) secured 10th in the event with a time of 8.5 in the long go and a no score in the short go.

The women's team finished sixth. Caydee Johnson (Manhattan, Montana) was third overall in the break away roping with a time of 7.4 on two runs. Her teammate Payton Feyder took fourth with a time of 15.8 on two runs. Morgan Darnell had a long go time of 2.2 but was unable to rope her calf in the short go and finshed fifth in the average.

Laramie County is back in action at the Gillette College Rodeo March 20-22.
