Men’s Soccer Broadhurst & Castruita Named to United Soccer Coaches All-America Team

CHEYENNE, WY – Sophomore Cameron Broadhurst (Broomfield, Colorado) of the Laramie County Community College men's soccer team has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team, recently announced by the organization. Freshman Omar Castruita (Boulder, Colorado) has been named to the All-America Second Team.

Broadhurst and Castruita are the only players from Region IX to make the list.

Broadhurst, a defensive midfielder from Broomfield, Colorado captained a group that scored 78 goals this season. He was second on the team in goals with 13 and recorded three assists. Over his two years as a Golden Eagle he scored 17 goals and dished out seven assists.

Cameron is a two-time All-Region selection and was the 2018 Region IX Freshman of the Year.

Castruita an All-Region IX First Team selection led the Golden Eagles in assists with 18. His 18 assists were second best in the country. Omar also scored seven goals on the year for LCCC, including three game-winning goals.

The Golden Eagles posted an overall record of 16-5-1, while registering an undefeated 10-0 mark in Region IX play, a Region IX Championship and North Central District Championship.

At the National Tournament, the Golden Eagles reached the NJCAA National Tournament semi-finals.
