Vazquez and Broadhurst Help Golden Eagles Top Northwest College

POWELL, Wyoming – The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team once again shows their resilience in a 2-0 win over Northwest College in Powell Saturday afternoon.

While showing their abilities to hold steady on the defense, offensively Ricardo Vazquez (Denver, Colorado) and Cameron Broadhurst (Broomfield, Colorado) helped seal the Golden Eagles win by scoring the teams two goals. Vazquez scored his goal in the 53rd minute on a restart pass from Raul Magno (Boulder, Colorado).

However, Northwest would come back and create some dangerous opportunities looking to equalize the game. The Golden Eagles kept up with a strong defense, led by goalkeeper Brady Mangel (Thornton, Colorado) who had a total of seven saves from the box. Tanner Riedel (Laramie, Wyoming) had to step in for Mangel after he received a yellow card and made a big save on a set piece. Broadhurst would double the lead after he brought down a cross from Magno and buried his shot in the net. Golden Eagles are now 3-2 on the year.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action with a 1:30 p.m. home game against Gillette College on Wednesday, Sept. 19th.
