Golden Eagles Fall to #22 Casper

CASPER, Wyoming – Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) poured in a team-high 27 points after breaking the school record the previous game with 51 points but the Golden Eagles were unable to knock off #22 Casper College falling 97-68 in a Region IX North game Saturday afternoon in Casper.

The Golden Eagles (4-18, 2-6) now prepare for Wednesday's showdown with Eastern Wyoming College (10-12, 1-7). The game will be in Torrington for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.

Oliver, Laramie County's leading scorer this season at 19.7 points per game, buried four 3-pointers in Saturday's loss to Casper (20-3, 7-1). He was 11-of-24 from the field overall and 4-of-11 beyond the arc while also grabbing a team-high seven rebounds.

Two more Golden Eagles also hit double figures against the Thunderbirds. Chris Grace (Needville, Texas) tallied 14 points, three rebounds and three assists. Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) chipped in 10 points.

David Walker was Casper's top scorer with 28 points. Philip Pepple Jr. had 15 points to go along with 13 rebounds and Dathan Satchell added 13 points.
