Men’s Basketball Fall to Sheridan on Road

SHERIDAN, WY – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball had a hard time keeping the Generals from scoring fall to Sheridan College 96-74 Saturday afternoon in Region IX North action on the road.

The Golden Eagles only committed 12 turnovers in the game but only forced Sheridan into six turnovers.

The loss drops LCCC to 3-14 overall and 1-3 in Region IX North play. Sheridan moves to 14-6 overall and 2-2 in Region IX North play.

The Generals held a 40-35 halftime lead before exploding for 56 points in the second half thanks to 10-of-25 shooting from three-point range.

Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) and Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) scored a team-high 19 points. Kyle Cabs (Denver, Colorado) added 12 points, knocking down six shots from the field. Chris Grace (Needville, Texas) followed with nine points off the bench. Oliver also had four assists.

LCCC shot 47.8 percent, while SC shot 52.2 percent and finished 16-of-19 from the free throw line. The Golden Eagles outrebounded Sheridan 35-34 in the game.

LCCC finishes its three-game road swing at Western Wyoming Community College on Wednesday.
