#4 Otero Defeats Laramie County, 109-77

La Junta, CO – #4 Otero's Eoin Nelson scored a game-high 22 points, including back-to-back baskets to key a decisive run to end the first half, lifting the Rattlers (15-0) to a 109-77 win over Laramie County (2-9) Tuesday evening in La Junta, Colorado.

Early on Otero jumped out to early lead on some fast break points and were in control from the start. The Rattles led at the half 52-35 and outscored the Golden Eagles 57-42 in the second half.

Freshman Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) paced the Golden Eagles with 19 points, while fellow freshman Chris Grace (Needville, Texas) tossed in 17 points and added two steals.

Golden Eagles freshman Damien Perry (North Dartmouth, Massachusetts) also scored in double figures with 14 points. Sophomore Cortney Dean (Denver, Colorado) had eight points and five rebounds, and freshman Ashraf Tchadouwa (Toronto, Canada) blocked a game-high two shots.

Nelson's 22 points came on 10-of-11 shooting overall. Marquise Johnson had 17 points for them and shot 8-of-11 from the field.

The Golden Eagles are back in action at home on Friday, December 13, hosting Lamar Community College at the RAC. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.
