Perry and Oliver Shine in Loss Against NJC

Sterling, Colo. – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team suffered a loss on Tuesday night, falling to Northeastern Junior College 73-62 on the road. With the loss, LCCC falls to 1-5 on the year.

NJC came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, making seven of their first 10 shots with four of those being three pointers. The Golden Eagles kept eating away at the deficit, but NJC would lead at the half 47-26.

The Golden Eagles scored some quick baskets to start the second half. However, everything the Golden Eagles made a run, NJC would answer back.

The Golden Eagles had two players in double-digits, Damien Perry (North Dartmouth, Massachusetts) and Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) had 19 points. Perry shot 6-17 from the field and 2-7 from beyond the arc. He also led the team with three assists. Oliver shot 6-12 and 2-3 from the three-point line and came down with four rebounds. Kyle Cabs (Denver, Colorado) pulled down a team-high five rebounds. As a team, LCCC shot 36.7 percent from the field, 27.8 from three-point line and 55.3 percent from the foul line.

The Golden Eagles return home as they host #12 Otero Junior College on Thursday, November 21 at 6 p.m.
