Men’s Basketball Fall on Road at North Platte

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team fell on the road at North Platte Community College 72-65 on Saturday. The Golden Eagles are now 1-2 on the season.

Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) scored 21 points, one of three Golden Eagles to net double figures, in his team's 72-65 loss to the Knights. Oliver also pulled down seven rebounds.

Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) recorded 18 points and Damien Perry (North Dartmouth, Massachusetts) added 11 points. Zovko also dished out two assists.

Laramie County shot 36.7% for the game, 36.4% (8-for-22) from the three-point line; the Golden Eagles outrebounded North Platte 43-37.  

North Platte was led in scoring by Courtney Murrell with 16 points and Danilo Matovic with 14 points.

LCCC is back in action on Tuesday at Western Nebraska Community College. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
