Golden Eagles Lose on Road Against McCook

McCOOK, Neb. – Laramie County Community College men's basketball opened the weekend with an 82-66 lost against McCook Community College Friday night at the Peter & Dolores Events Center in McCook. The Golden Eagles drop to 1-2 on the season.

Three Golden Eagles scored in double figures, led by Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) with 15, going 7-for-15 from the field. Chris Grace (Needville, Texas) had 13 points and four steals. Damien Perry (North Dartmouth, Massachusettes) added 10. Perry dished out a team-high three assists.

The Golden Eagles were down at the half 48-25 and only shot 33.3% from the field and 16.7% from the three-point line in the first half. McCook shot nearly 60% from the field in the first half.

The Golden Eagles shot 37.3% for the game, 25% (7-for-28) from beyond the arc.

McCook held a 49-31 edge on the boards, led by Tyrik Singh with 11 and LeTre Darthard with 10. Kyle Cabs (Denver, Colorado) pulled down a team-high six for the Golden Eagles.

Darthard led McCook Community College with 25 points, draining 5-of-6 three-pointers.

Laramie County is back on the floor Saturday against North Platte Community College at 2 p.m. MT.
