Laramie County Community College Athletics

Dr. Cindy Henning begins her third year as interim executive director of athletics, recreation, and exercise science. And her 11th year at LCCC. 

In the past year, as AD, Henning established the Golden Eagle Hall of Fame and the Blue and Gold Bash, both serving as fundraisers for Golden Eagle Athletics. Unfortunately, due to COVID those events were postponed. Henning also served on the committee that developed the 5 Year Strategic Plan for Golden Eagle Athletics. 

A graduate of Cheyenne’s East High School, Henning is a JUCO product. She played college volleyball at Eastern Wyoming before completing her playing career and Bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Henning has over 20 years of experience in athletics at the K-12, NAIA, and NCAA Division I levels. Henning's high school teams made numerous state tournament appearances in Colorado and South Dakota. Her Dakota State University teams qualified for the Regional Tournament on several occasions. Henning served as the Interim Volleyball Coach for LCCC for one season. 

Henning came to LCCC in 2010 as the Physical Education Program Director. During her tenure, the program has expanded into Exercise Science. The program now includes Exercise Science, Physical Education Teacher Education, and Sport Management degrees. She also served as the Interim Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Wellness for two years. 

Henning earned her master's degree in sports administration from the University of Northern Colorado and her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Wyoming.
