Laramie County Community College is proud to announce eight new additions to the LCCC Athletics Hall of Fame as a part of the fifth class to be enshrined for the achievements while with Golden Eagles athletics.
The 2025 class is highlighted by the 2017 and 2018 volleyball teams who both appeared at the national tournament, finishing 10th and 9th respectively with the 2017 and 18 teams both winning Region IX North titles. Region IX combined for the Regional Tournament in 2018 and the Golden Eagles won the first iteration of that tournament.
Two individual players from those teams, Cassidy Nelson and Avery Nelson, will also be inducted. Both Nelson’s earned All-American status with Avery earning an Honorable Mention in 2017 before being named 1st Team All-American in 2018. Cassidy was named an Honorable Mention in 2019.
They will be honored along with former Golden Eagles Head Coach Austin Albers, who enters as the winningest head coach in program history with 145 wins in five seasons in charge of LCCC volleyball.
One other athlete will join the class of 2025 as Jeff Bishop, who competed for the Golden Eagles in men’s basketball and rodeo in the late 70’s, will also be enshrined.
The committee also will be inducting a pair of contributors to the Hall of Fame to round out the class. Longtime supporter Bill Stone will be joined by former Golden Eagle Club President Billie Addleman to round out the current class.
