Fernando Perez is in his 4th season as the Head Coach of the Golden Eagles, continuing to elevate the program with a proven track record of success. In the 2024-2025 season, Perez led the team to an impressive 8-5-2 record and a trip to the Region IX Quarterfinals, marking another solid year in his tenure. Under his leadership, the Golden Eagles have consistently been competitive, reaching the postseason in multiple seasons, including two appearances in the Region IX Quarterfinals and a Region IX Finals appearance.

Perez's leadership was evident from his first year as Head Coach, where he guided the team to a 5-7-1 record in 2023, securing a strong 5-3-1 conference record in Region IX play. The team’s only losses came in postseason action and non-conference games, underscoring their resilience in league competition. His strategic approach to building a competitive and balanced team has seen significant success on the field.

As the Interim Head Coach during the 2022 season, Perez led the Golden Eagles to a 7-7-2 record, gaining invaluable experience that helped shape his current coaching philosophy. Perez’s time with LCCC is backed by a deep understanding of the program, having played two seasons with the Golden Eagles from 2012 to 2013.

Before taking on the head coaching role, Perez made a significant impact as an assistant coach. During his time as an assistant, he helped guide the team to a Region IX Championship in the 2020-2021 season, proving his ability to drive success as part of the coaching staff.

Perez's coaching experience extends beyond LCCC, with previous assistant coaching roles at Montana State University-Billings, where he contributed to the Yellowjackets' success over three seasons. His time in Billings helped the team earn 24 wins, showcasing his ability to develop players and manage the tactical aspects of the game.

A former defensive midfielder, Perez played two seasons at MSU-Billings, logging 1,875 minutes and contributing two goals and 29 shots. His background as a player, combined with his coaching experience, gives him a unique perspective in developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

Under Perez's leadership, numerous players have gone on to sign with NCAA Division II programs, including UCCS, Metro State, Regis, CSU-Pueblo, Westminster, and MSU-Billings, a testament to his ability to develop talent and prepare players for the next level.

With a focus on building a winning culture, Perez has laid a strong foundation for the future of the Golden Eagles, combining a commitment to player development with a competitive mindset that attracts top recruits. His success as both a player and coach positions him as a key figure in the program’s continued growth.
