Benedict Signs with Black Hills State

 CHEYENNE – Laramie County Community College volleyball player Jessica Benedict signed a National Letter of Intent with NCAA DII Black Hills State University. BHSU is located in Spearfish, South Dakota.

Benedict, a 6-1 middle blocker from Wright, Wyoming. The sophomore played in 35 matches this past season for the Golden Eagles and recorded 117 kills and averaged 1.29 kills per set. She had 75 blocks on the year and averaged .82 blocks per set. Benedict had a career-high 15 kills against Snow College at the NJCAA National Tournament.

"I really liked the area and being close to home helped," said Benedict. "I've been able to spend time in the Black Hills with my family so I'm excited to be in that area."

Benedict helped the Golden Eagles go 32-9 on the year and the NJCAA National Tournament for the second year in a row. The Yellowjackets finished 9-16 this season and compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
