Big Blocking Night Leads #17 Golden Eagles to Win over WWCC

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming – The #17 ranked Laramie County Community College volleyball team used a huge blocking night to pick up a road win over Region IX north opponent Western Wyoming Community College, defeating WWCC in three sets.

The Golden Eagles hit .131 with 39 kills to 23 errors as well as five service aces and eight block assists. LCCC rolled through the match, winning 25-19, 25-23, 26-24.

Sophomore Carlee Morrison (Gypsum, Colorado) continues her excellent play as of late, finishing with 12 kills on .194 hitting while freshman Jessica Benedict (Wright, Wyoming) had eight kills. Kyle Meltzer (Fort Collins, Colorado) had two service aces. Sophomore Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) added 28 assists and 13 digs while freshman Macy Bourn (Frederick, Colorado) had eight digs. Payton Stack (Casper, Wyoming) led with three blocks in the match and Benedict had a block as well.

LCCC will return to action tomorrow as they head to Riverton on Saturday, October 14th to play against Central Wyoming College at 3 p.m.
