#14 Golden Eagles Earn Win over Miles

CHEYENNE, Wyoming – The #14 ranked Laramie County Community College volleyball team earned a three set victory on Saturday afternoon over Miles Community College (MT) to move to 21-6 overall and 6-1 in Region IX North play.

The Golden Eagles cruised to a 25-6, 25-17, 25-11 win, hitting an impressive .390 with 39 kills and only nine errors. Their defense was excellent as well as the Pioneers hit .037 as a team with only 10 kills in the entire match.

Head coach Austin Albers earned his 100th victory of his career.

Avery Nelson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and Carlee Morrison (Gypsum, Colorado) led the attack with nine kills including a blistering .304 and .615 hitting percentage respectively. Freshman Payton Stack (Casper, Wyoming) added six kills with .364 hitting percentage. Sophomore Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) had 24 assists while Macy Bourn (Frederick, Colorado) had 11 digs.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action Friday Oct. 13 as they travel to Rock Springs, Wyoming to battle Western Wyoming Community College at 7 p.m.
