Golden Eagles Complete Sweep on Day One of WyoBraska

TORRINGTON, WY – The Laramie County Community College team completed a sweep in the first night of the WyoBraska topping Miles Community College and Central Wyoming College both the scores of 3-0 on Friday.

LCCC opened up the day with a 25-19, 25-12, 25-14 victory over Miles Community College, getting 10 digs and five serving aces from Macy Bourn and six kills and two serving aces from Carlee Morrison. Payton Stack led the way with 10 kills in the match. Kylie Martin and Kaylee Coleson had six aces, while Kyra Brandt and Ranae Davis dished out 16 and six assists respectively.

"We came out really flat in set one, but found our rhythm later in the set," said head coach Austin Albers. "We fell into their pace a little bit and we weren't near as sharp as we'd like to be, but at the end of the day we got a win and got a chance to get over reserves some more match experience."

In the final match of the night, the Golden Eagles swept Central Wyoming College 25-22, 25-22, 25-21. It was another strong defensive performance for LCCC, with Bourn notching 15 digs to pace the Golden Eagles. Morrison added 14, while Sydney Montoya and Kyle Meltzer had 11 and 10 respectively. Brandt had 26 assists, nine digs, seven kills and two aces on serves.

LCCC will play Colorado Northwestern Community College and #4 Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday at the WyoBraska.
