Golden Eagles Complete Sweep at MCC Triangular

MCCOOK, Nebraska – The Laramie County Community College volleyball team completed its sweep at the McCook Triangular, topping North Platte Community College 3-1 and McCook Community College 3-2 on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles are now 10-4 overall on the season with wins.

LCCC opened the day with a 25-17, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19 victory over North Platte, getting 12 kills and three digs from Jessica Benedict and 10 kills from Carlee Morrison, Avery Nelson and Kylie Martin. Kyra Brandt had 23 assists to lead the way in that category, while Renae Davis chipped in with 18.

In the final match of the weekend, the Golden Eagles overcame a poor hitting percentage to pull out the victory against McCook Community College 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 20-25, 15-12. It was another balanced attack for Laramie County, with Nelson notching 16 kills to pace the Golden Eagles. Martin added 12, while Lindsay Vanderwood 10 kills. Brandt added 29 assists and eight digs. Macy Bourn added a team-best 15 digs, while Benedict led with a block.

LCCC will be back in action on Thursday as they host Garden City Community College at 7 p.m.
