Sitzler Notches three Saves in 3-2 Win over Monroe CC

Melbourne, FL – Laramie County Community College scored a goal in overtime to secure a 3-2 overtime win against Monroe Community College in their first game at the NJCAA National Tournament. The win pushes the Golden Eagles record to 15-1-2 for the season.

Beyonce Robinson (Ontario, Canada) scored in the first minute of the game off a long pass from Avery Potter (Casper, Wyoming). Monroe CC tied things up in the 43rd minute on a penalty kick from Efi Brame. Christina De Andres (Baleres, Spain) regained the lead as she tapped in a cross from Faith Meredith (Cheyenne, Wyoming) in the 44th minute. Katrina Yencer leveled things up in the 48th minute for MCC. Meredith smashed a pass from Lauren Amerena (West Sussex, England) off the far post and in in the 92nd minute in overtime for the game-winner.

Amerena and Robinson led the Golden Eagles in shots with four apiece. Larissa Sitzler (Hamburg, Germany) made three saves in the match.

LCCC is back in action tomorrow Wednesday, Nov. 20 against #1 seed Monroe College. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. EST.
