Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Western Nebraska for Ninth Straight Win

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – On Friday afternoon, the #4 Laramie County Community College women's soccer team took care of Western Nebraska Community College 1-0 at Landers Sports Complex in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

The Golden Eagles came out in the first half strong with firing off 12 shots in the half. LCCC had some good looks early on from Beyonce Robinson (Ontario, Canada) and Lauren Amerena (West Sussex, England). Robinson had her shot cleared off the line and Amerena's header just was over the crossbar. The only goal came in the 45th minute when Amerena scored off an assist by Abree Hill (Casper, Wyoming). In the first half, the Golden Eagles outshot the Cougars 12-1 and 7-0 in corners.

Although the Golden Eagles battled the wind in the second half, it still was able to hold the Cougars off the scoresheet. Overall the Golden Eagles outshot the Cougars 15-3 and had the edge in corner kicks 10-1.

Western Nebraska was held to only one shot on goal. Larissa Sitzler (Hamburg, Germany) made one save to earn the shutout.

The Golden Eagles (9-0-1) are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado for a Region IX game.
