#10 Laramie County Picks Up Win over #7 Lewis and Clark

Wichita, KS – The Golden Eagles scored three second half goals to get a 3-1 victory over Lewis and Clark Community College. Laramie County improves to 2-0-1 on the year while Lewis and Clark falls to 2-1.

In a quiet first half that didn't see many threats from either side, the Trailblazers would be the only team to get on the board. Lewis and Clark took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute.

Laramie County came out of the half hoping to find the equalizer by peppering the frame and attacking the goal. Darby Whiteley (Bungendore, Australia) leveled the score 1-1 in the 54th minute on a pass from Beyonce Robinson (Ontario, Canada). LCCC outshot their opponents 19-9 in the match and 16-5 in the second half. The Golden Eagles took the lead on a goal off the foot of Robinson to make the score 2-1 in the 75th minute. Abree Hill (Casper, Wyoming) was credited with the assist. Robinson would score again in the 78th minute on a pass from Avery Potter (Casper, Wyoming) to double the lead.

Taylor Meyrick (Cheyenne, Wyoming) and Faith Meredith (Cheyenne, Wyoming) led the team with four shots a piece. Seven different Golden Eagles got into the shooting column en route to a 19 shot attempts. Larissa Sitzler (Hamburg, Germany) finished the afternoon with one save.

Laramie County will now face #3 Iowa Western Community College on Sunday at 12 CST.
