Golden Eagles Fall On Last Minute Goal

CHEYENNE, Wyoming – In the 90th minute of a scoreless match, Laramie County Community College surrendered an own goal in the Region IX Championship game to Western Wyoming Community College, falling 1-0, Saturday afternoon in Denver, Colorado.

The Golden Eagles had a good amount of chances but were unable to find the net. LCCC is 11-6 overall on the year and will have to wait and see if they receive an at-large bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.

In the shot category, the Golden Eagles offense tallied 14 shots with four coming on frame. Annie Rolf (West Sussex, England) led all Golden Eagles with six attempts, one of which went on goal. Sophomore Alexis Hobbs (Kent, England) added an additional four shots for LCCC, while sophomore Taylor Stoeger (Green River, Wyoming) chipped in with two shots.

Sophomore Ellie Bowman (Sussex, England) made her 17th start of the season in the goal for the Golden Eagles and picked up four saves against Western Wyoming.
