Golden Eagles Complete Perfect Weekend With 2-0 Win Over Butler CC

CHEYENNE, WY. – A strong performance capped off a perfect 2-0 weekend for the Laramie County Community College Women's Soccer team as they dealt Butler Community College a 2-0 defeat on Sunday afternoon at home.

The Golden Eagles pelted 10 shots with seven on goal while the Grizzles managed 10 shot attempts with three on net. Laramie County had seven corner kicks to BCC's two.

Taylor Stoeger (Green River, Wyoming) scored the first goal in the 52nd minute to give the Golden Eagles the lead. She took a cross from Noemi Amaro (Gering, Nebraska) and touched it past the keeper for the goal.

Stoeger scored the second goal as well. The sophomore scored on a shot in the 70th minute off a pass from Faith Meredith (Cheyenne, Wyoming).

Just prior to that goal, BCC had a chance but Ellie Bowman (Essex, England) came up with the save. She recorded three saves in the match. It was the second straight shutout by Bowman and the Laramie County defense.

LCCC will play two non-region matches next weekend. The Golden Eagles head to Iowa to take on Tyler Junior College and host Iowa Western Community College on Saturday and Sunday.
