Two Goals in Each Half Gives LCCC Women Win in Home Opener

CHEYENNE, Wy. – Alexis Hobbs (Kent, England) scored a goal and Taylor Stoeger (Green River, Wyoming) recorded a hat trick as the Laramie County Community College Women's Soccer team was successful in a 4-0 home victory over Otero Junior College (Colo.) on Friday.

Hobbs got the Golden Eagles on the scoreboard in the 35th minute as she corralled a pass about 19 yards out in the middle of the box and kept her shot low that found the back of the net. It was Hobbs first goal of the season.

Just over seven minutes later, Hobbs popped a kick over toward the right side of the box that was touched by Stoeger as she finished her first of three goals in the day. Stoeger also had the assist on the goal by Hobbs. Her second hand third goals would come in the 80th and 87th minute. Abree Hill (Casper, Wyoming) and Noemi Amaro (Gering, Nebraska) has the assists.

Ellie Bowman (Essex, England) got the nod in the goal for Laramie County making her third start and stopped all six shots on goal.

The Golden Eagles will return to the field on Sunday for a 10:00 a.m. match with Butler Community College (KS).
