Woods and Morillon Sign with Four-Year Schools

Cheyenne, WY – Two Laramie County Community College women soccer players signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday afternoon. Nikita Woods and Abby Morillon signed with NCAA Division II programs.

Woods, a native of Corrimal, Australia signed with Fort Hays University in Hays, Kansas. She scored 25 goals and dished out 10 assists this past season. In two season at LCCC she scored 37 goals and had 20 assists.

This past season she was also named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-American 2nd team and a NJCAA First Team All-American in 2017. She was the 2017 Region IX Player of the Year, she made the All-Region IX First team in 2016 and 2017. Woods is tied for second in All-times goals in a season with 25 and 37 in a career at LCCC.

The Tigers finished last season 10-6-4 on the year and 7-3-1 in their conference. They made it all the way to the MIAA conference semifinals. Former Golden Eagle Eden Stoddard played the past two seasons at Fort Hays State University.

Morillon is a Cheyenne native and signed with Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. She had 14 goals and 13 assists this past season. In her two-year career at LCCC she had 27 assists and 24 goals for the Golden Eagles.

Abby ranks second All-Time for LCCC in assists in a career with 27. She was a First Team All-Region IX performer in 2016 and 2017. Morillon was named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-American Second Team. She is also involved in SGA and wrote for the LCCC school newspaper Wingspan.

The Dragons finished last season 8-10-1 and 6-3 in conference. They reached the semifinals of their conference tournament. They compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Both led the Golden Eagles to the NJCAA National Tournament in 2016 and 2017. In 2016 they helped LCCC reach the semifinals of the National Tournament and finished ranked 3rd in the country both seasons.
