LCCC Soccer Extend Winning Streak with 5-0 Win vs WWCC

DENVER – Taylor Stoeger (Green River, Wyoming) and Nikita Woods (Corrimal, Australia) each scored a pair of goals to lead the #2 Laramie County Community College women's soccer team over Western Wyoming Community College 5-0 on Friday evening.

With the win, LCCC (14-1) will play in the Region IX Women's Championship game on Saturday and extends its winning streak to 10.

The Golden Eagles got on the board in the 9th minute on Stoeger's 17th goal of the season. Abby Morillon (Cheyenne, Wyoming) was credited with the assist. The play developed as it moved from the left side and Morillon crossed it over to Stoeger for the finish in the box.

LCCC added its second goal in the 11th minute on a shot from Alexis Hobbs (Kent, England). Woods got her first goal of the game in the 12th minute on a pass from Natalie de Marco (Canberra, Australia). The Golden Eagles led 3-0 at the half.

The Golden Eagles got the fourth goal in the 50th minute on Stoeger's second goal of the match on an assist from Morillon. LCCC added its fifth goal in the 53rd minute on Woods second of the game as she finished a pass from Morillon.

The Golden Eagles finished with a 22-5 edge in shots. Kelly Morine (Denver, Colorado) made four saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.

LCCC will play in the Region IX Championship game tomorrow at 4 p.m. in a meeting with Sheridan College.
