Golden Eagles Early Surge Leads to 2-0 Win over Sheridan

CHEYENNE, Wyoming – The Laramie County Community College women's soccer team blitzed Sheridan College offensively with 17 shots, including outshooting the Generals, 8-3 in shots on goal in route to a 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at home.

Sophomores Nikita Woods (Corrimal, Australia) and Abby Morillon (Cheyenne, Wyoming) recorded the most shots in the contest, with 4 and 2 respectively.

In the first half, the Golden Eagles outshot the Generals, 9-5. In the final 45 minutes LCCC tallied up eight more shots.

Freshman Ellie Bowman (Essex, England) posted the shutout while making four saves in 90 minutes of action.

Laramie County got on the board early in the contest in the first minute of the game as Taylor Stoeger (Green River, Wyoming) got her 11th goal of the season on an assist from Morillon. LCCC had another goal in the 26th minute to push the lead to 2-0 as Woods found Noemi Amaro (Gering, Nebraska) for the goal.

LCCC continues its homestand on Wednesday, Oct. 4th, when the Golden Eagles welcome Western Wyoming Community College. The game time is set for 4 p.m.
