Gillette, WY – The #3 Laramie County Community College women's soccer team battled Gillette College Wednesday afternoon and won 7-1.
LCCC (7-1, 3-0) which won its seventh contest of the year, outshot the Pronghorns 29-2 and kept them off the board in the first half.
The Golden Eagles broke through in the 19th minute when Nikita Woods (Corrimal, Australia) found Annie Rolf (West Sussex, England) for the first goal. Taylor Stoeger (Green River, Wyoming) made is 2-0 in the 23rd minute tapping home a pass from Abby Morillon (Cheyenne, Wyoming). The Golden Eagles led 2-0 at the break.
LCCC came out in the second half to pressure and were rewarded as Stoeger slipped a shot past the goalkeeper in the 47th minute. The assist was credited to Maria da Silveira (Porto Alegre, Brazil). Elise Atkins (Haxtun, Colorado) made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute off a pass from Morillon. Rolf got her second goal in the 65th minute on an assist from Simone Marcus (Flager, Colorado). In the 71st minute Natalie de Marco (Canberra, Australia) made it 6-0. Da Silveira got the seventh goal. Ellie Bowman (Essex, England) tallied a save in the win.
Laramie County will be at home on Saturday September 23 to host Sheridan College in Region IX action at 4 p.m.
