Women’s Basketball Fall to USU-Eastern, 75-57

PRICE, Utah – The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team had a strong showing on Friday night but couldn't get the shots to fall on Saturday as they fell to USU-Eastern 75-57.

The Golden Eagles drop to 2-3 overall on the year. Karli O'Brien (Rapid City, South Dakota) paced the Golden Eagles with 15 points. Fellow freshman Skylar Backstrom (Castle Rock, Colorado) had 10 points. Caylin Arnold (Strasburg, Colorado) finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles shot 28.1 percent from the field, 22.2 from behind the arc and 50 percent from the free throw line.

USU-Eastern was led by a 24 point effort Alyssa Crumley. Kaitlin Toluono contributed with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Madison Loftus pulled down 11 rebounds.

USU-Eastern shot 40.4 percent from the field, 21.7 percent from long-range and 55.9 percent from the free throw line. They edged LCCC in rebounds 57-34.

The Golden Eagles will continue on the road as they travel to Riverton, Wyoming on Tuesday Nov. 14th with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff against Central Wyoming College.
