Rodeo Competed in Casper, Men Take Fifth

CASPER, Wyo. – The Golden Eagle rodeo teams competed in the Casper College Ropin' & Riggin' Days Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming over the weekend, with the men claiming a fifth-place finish. The women finished ninth on the weekend.

Sophomore Bernard Girard took second in the Tie Down Roping after roping his calf with a time of 22.6. He had the best time in the short go with a time of 10.1. Girard currently sits fifth in the Central Rocky Mountain Region Standings. Teammate Kaden Lappe placed third after his two-run performance, roping his calf in 24.1 seconds. Houston Brown finished seventh in the Tie Down Roping with a her long round performance, roping his calf in 10.2 seconds. Brown currently sits ninth in the region standings. Chase Miller gathered ninth in the Tie Down Roping with a long round time of 11.9.

In team roping, Brady Joshep (Casper College) teamed up with Clayton Symons placed sixth in with a long round time of 5.9. Their time of 5.9 in the long-go was the best time. Ty Chasek (EWC) teamed up with Cord Roberts and came in eighth with a long round performance time of 7.0.

Rance Johnson took third in the Steer Wrestling after bringing his steer down with a time of 12.5. He has the best time in the short go, bringing his steer down in 4.5 seconds. Johnson is fourth in the region standings in the Tie Down Roping.

On the women's side, sophomore Caydee Johnson took fourth in the Goat Tying after roping her goat with a time of 14.7 seconds.

The Golden Eagles will head to Laramie, Wyoming as the teams will compete in the University of Wyoming Rodeo on Friday, April 26, Saturday, April 27 and Sunday April 28.
