Men Place Third, Women Finish Seventh at Gillette College Rodeo

Gillette, Wyo. – The men's and women's rodeo teams were able to score points and had an impressive showing at the Gillette College Rodeo this past weekend. The men's team finished third with a point total of 445 and the women's team placed seventh with 130 points.

On the men's side, Bernard Girard won the Tie Down Roping with an average of 20.9 on two runs. Austin Hurlburt teamed up with Brandy Schaack of the University of Wyoming to win the Team Roping with an average of 17.5. Hurlburt also finished seventh in the Steer Wrestling. Ryan Shuckburgh placed second in the Steer Wrestling with a time of 9.5 on two. Houston Brown came in fourth in the Tie Down Roping with an average of 25.2. Brown finished seventh in the Saddle Bronc Riding. Justin Skarohlid and Chase Miller roped fourth place in the Team Roping with an average of 20.2. Cord Roberts teamed up with Ty Chasek from Eastern Wyoming to take fifth in the Team Roping. Roberts also took ninth in the Tie Down Roping.

Shuckburgh moves into third overall in the Central Rocky Mountain Region standing in the Steer Wrestling.Brown moves into fifth in the region standings in the Tie Down Roping.

For the women's team, Morgan Darnell won the Break Away Roping with a time of 5.3 on two runs. Georgie Lage placed third in the Break Away Roping with a time of 6.2 on two. Sydney Graff finished seventh in the Break Away Roping event. Also placing for LCCC were Caydee Johnson (ninth in the Break Away Roping) and Ryleigh Hauer (10th in the Barrel Racing).
