Austin Hurlburt Wins Tie Down Roping Event at Lamar Rodeo

Lamar, Colo. – The men's and women's rodeo teams had an impressive showing at the Lamar Community College Rodeo this past weekend. The men's team finished with a point total of 280 and the women's team placed seventh with 45 points.

On the men's side, Austin Hurlburt won the Tie Down Roping with an average of 22.2 on two runs. He moves up to fourth overall in the region standings. Brock Belkham came in third in the Steer Wrestling with a time of 9.8 on two. Connor Cathcart locked down fifth in the Bull Riding with a long-score of 43. Rance Johnson managed eighth in the Tie Down Roping with a time of 31.8 on two. Johnson currently sits third in the Central Rocky Mountain Region standings. Kaden Lappe nabbed eighth in the Steer Wrestling with an average of 18.3 on two. Bridger Hansen placed 10th in the Bareback Riding with a score of 52.

On the women's side, Caydee Johnson came in seventh in the Goat Tying with an averge of 18.7 on two runs. Cassidy March roped 10th in the Break Away Roping with a time of 103.4 on two. Her long-go time was a 3.4.

The Golden Eagles will host the Shawn Dubie Rodeo this weekend at the LCCC Arena.

The Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo will be held Friday, Oct. 12 - Sunday, Oct. 14 at LCCC's Arena.
