DENVER, Colo. – Freshman Bryan Vazquez (Denver, Colorado) scored a goal in the ninth minute to help get things rolling as the Laramie County Community College men's soccer team won 4-0 over Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday afternoon at Regency Athletic Complex at Metro State University.
Vazquez got on the end of cross from Christian Corniel (Provo, Utah) to move LCCC (14-3) into the Region IX Final.
Carlos Vargas (Heber City, Utah) doubled the lead in the 25th minute when he followed up on a rebound on a shot by Omar Castruita (Boulder, Colorado). The Golden Eagles extended the lead in the 28th minute when Ethan Mathis (Cheyenne, Wyoming) found Noe Ortiz-Pena (Aurora, Colorado) for the third goal. LCCC took a 3-0 lead into the half.
Jason Rodriguez (Longmont, Colorado) added the fourth goal in the 85th minute as he got on a cross from Sagar Bhattarai (Twin Falls, Idaho).
Goalkeeper Declan Domyan (Johannesburg, South Africa) made three saves.
LCCC will face Otero Junior College on Sunday, Nov. 3rd at 5:30 p.m. in the Region IX Final. Match is at Regency Athletic Complex at Metro State University.
