Cheyenne, Wyo. – Brady Mangel (Thornton, Colorado) made two saves starting in goal and fellow freshman Cameron Broadhurst (Broomfield, Colorado) scored the game-winning goal to lead Laramie County to a 1-0 victory over Gillette College Tuesday afternoon in Gillette.
The victory moved the Golden Eagles to 5-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in Region IX North play.
In a scoreless battle, Broadhurst header beat the Gillette College keeper in the 74th minute to get LCCC the win. Aaron Barber (Cheyenne, Wyoming) had the assist on the game winner.
Laramie County finished with an 11-3 advantage in shots.
LCCC will visit Western Nebraska Community College Saturday at 2 p.m. in a Region IX Quarterfinal matchup.
