LCCC Men’s Soccer Get Win at Western Wyoming

Rock Springs, Wy. – The men's soccer team was on the road at Western Wyoming Community College Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Eagles got a win against the Mustangs by a final score of 5-1. The win moves them to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in Region IX North play.

Cameron Broadhurst (Broomfield, Colorado) got things going offensively for the Golden Eagles, scoring in the 5th minute of the game on a shot from eight yards out. Just a couple minutes later, Sagar Bhattarai (Twin Falls, Idaho) put up the second goal in the 8th minute on a pass from Ricardo Vazquez (Denver, Colorado). The Golden Eagles took a 2-0 lead into the half. Raul Magno (Boulder, Colorado) added the third in the 50th minute on a pass from Sawyer Cirbo (Thornton, Colorado). Bhattarai would get his second goal of the game in the 55th minute and his final in the 67th minute to complete the hat trick. Broadhurst and Parker Longbottom (Cheyenne, Wyoming) had the assist on the fourth goal and Aaron Barber (Cheyenne, Wyoming) has the assist on the final goal.

The Mustangs struck a goal in the second half in the 57th minute on a miscue in the backline and Josh Crew put his shot away. The final score was 5-1.

Brady Mangel (Thornton, Colorado) started in goal and finished with four saves on the afternoon. Tanner Reidel (Laramie, Wyoming) came on for the final 20 minutes of the game and made a save.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, October 6th at 1:30 p.m. hosting Northwest College.
