ROCK SPRINGS, Wy – The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team tough season continues, as they fell to Western Wyoming Community College 2-0 to drop to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in Region IX play.
LCCC had its chances early to take the lead but could not capitalize. Western Wyoming tallied late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead, when Jesse Lopez got in behind the defenders and found the net in the 38th minute of action. The score remained 1-0 through halftime. The Mustangs would find the net once again in the 86th minute when Ramon Aparicio converted a penalty kick.
That's how things would end, as LCCC did have a 17-13 edge in shots but the Mustangs had an 11-3 advantage in corner kicks. Angel Alvarez stopped six shots in the game.
LCCC returns home on Saturday to take on Northwest College in a Region IX matchup.
